Alcohol Ether Carboxylate AEC-9Na, also known as sodium fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether carboxylate, is a new type of anionic-nonionic surfactant. Its structure is very similar to that of soap, but the embedded EO chains give it the characteristics of both anionic and nonionic surfactants, allowing it to be used over a wide pH range. It exhibits excellent cleaning, emulsifying, and dispersing properties, as well as the ability to disperse calcium soaps; it possesses good foaming capacity and foam stability; it is resistant to acids, alkalis, hard water, high temperatures, oxidizing agents, and reducing agents; it has good compatibility and, in particular, does not interfere with the performance of cationic surfactants; it offers good solubilizing properties, making it suitable for formulating functional transparent products, and is readily biodegradable.

Properties:
1. Alcohol ether carboxylate AEC-9Na is a new type of multifunctional anionic surfactant. Its chemical structural formula is: R-(OCH₂CH₂)nOCH₂COONa(H), where R represents a C12–14 natural fatty alcohol and n = 9. Its lipophilic and anionic groups are identical to those of coconut oil acid soap, and the embedded EO chains give it the characteristics of both anionic and nonionic surfactants.
2. Compared to the ester bonds in sodium fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether sulfates, the anionic group in AEC-9 is linked to the EO chain via a structurally stable ether bond. This bond is resistant to hydrolysis even in the presence of strong acids or strong bases, greatly enhancing stability and allowing for use under more severe conditions.
3. The embedded 9EO chain provides excellent electrolyte resistance, i.e., salt resistance. At room temperature, the alcohol ether carboxylate AEC-9Na remains clear and transparent without precipitation in saturated saline solutions and 3% calcium chloride mixtures.
Applications:
1. Used in household detergent formulations to improve the mildness of soaps, enhance their dispersing ability, and enable fatty acid soaps to form stable micelles in hard water.
2. Stable against strong alkalis, chlorine, and hydrogen peroxide; suitable for cleaning under alkaline and bleaching conditions.
Used for cleaning high-end fabrics or raw materials such as raw wool, silk, and velvet, it performs far better than corresponding alcohol or phenol ethers and provides superior softness.
3. Used as an emulsifying and viscosity-reducing agent for heavy oils under high-temperature, high-salinity conditions, it offers high viscosity reduction and easy demulsification.
4. When blended with other surfactants or additives as an oil displacement agent under high-temperature, high-salinity conditions, the high-temperature resistance of alcohol ether carboxylates allows them to serve as the primary surfactant in steam flooding. They can significantly reduce oil-water interfacial tension, improve crude oil recovery, and prevent wax precipitation.
Application
It can be used in household detergents, industrial cleaning agents, and phosphate-free detergents; in the textile industry for processes such as scouring, mercerizing, bleaching, softening, and dyeing; as an emulsifier and viscosity reducer resistant to high temperatures and high-concentration electrolytes in tertiary oil recovery and oil transportation, to improve crude oil recovery rates and prevent wax precipitation; in the paper industry, it is used for deinking waste paper and in softener formulations; in the leather industry, it serves as a component of degreasing agents, among other applications.

Directions for Use
1. The 30% solids content product is a liquid with good flowability and can be directly mixed with other products.
2. The 98% solids content product is a paste with poor flowability and must be heated to 50–70°C in a reactor before being mixed with other products.

1. Depending on customer requirements, the product will be packaged in ton containers or 200-kg drums and shipped to the designated location by the date specified by the customer.
2. This product is non-toxic and non-flammable; it should be stored and transported as a general chemical. Store in a dry, well-ventilated area.
